On ZAP Endurance athletes Joe Stilin and Matt McClintock kick off their 2021 outdoor track campaign’s this Friday, February 25th at the Texas Qualifier in Austin, Texas. Joe will be racing the 10,000m event and Matt will be racing the 5,000m event. The program for Friday night is designed for athletes chasing the Olympic Trials qualifying standards of 28:00 and 13:25. The pacing is expected to be slightly slower than the qualifying times for the first half of the races.
Joe opened his year with an indoor 5,000m race last month in Birmingham and is looking forward to making the step up to the 10,000m this weekend. His personal best at the distance is 28:21.
Matt will be racing for the first time since his runner-up finish at the Mortgage Network Half Marathon in December. The full start lists for both races can be found on the website and features strong fields in all events. The Texas Qualifier isn’t open to the public, but will be streamed live on the Citius Mag YouTube channel. Matt’s 5,000m section is set to start at 8:18pm central time with Joe’s 10,000m race at 9:19pm.
