ZAP athlete Andrew Colley returns to action this weekend at the Valencia Half Marathon. Colley is coming off a 10th place showing at the US 10 Mile Championships at the beginning of October and will be looking to improve upon his half marathon personal best on Sunday. Colley ran his debut half marathon this spring at the US Half Marathon Championships, hosted by the Pittsburgh Marathon, where he clocked a swift 1:02:40 over the rolling Pittsburgh course.
His 1:02:40 finish landed him on the podium in 3rd place, only 3 seconds away from his first national title. Prior to his 3rd place finish at the half, Colley set a 10 mile best of 47:12 at the Cherry Blossom 10 Miler and won the Lawyers Have Heart 10k in 28:45 over a hilly course in Arlington, VA. Since May Colley filled out a resumè that while impressive, was short due to his injury troubles over the last 4 years. His 6th place showing at the Peachtree Road race, 4th place finish at the Bix 7, and 9th place at the Falmouth Road Race rounded out a summer of top 10 finishes.
