On a day that saw the world record fall ZAP athlete Andrew Colley took advantage of a fast race in Valencia, Spain to run a new half marathon personal best. Colley was 3rd at the US Half Marathon Championships this past May in his half marathon debut. His time in that race was 1:02:40 and he bettered that Sunday morning in Valencia, running 1:02:23.
Colley ran very even splits with all his 5k splits between 14:41 and 14:52. As he methodically moved his way through the field Colley towed a large contingent of European athletes to personal bests. One Italian athlete was so grateful he and his father treated Andrew to lunch after the race!
2018 has been a year that has seen Colley debut successfully at 10 miles and half marathon. In his next race he will look to continue the streak when he makes his marathon debut at the US Marathon Championships on December 2nd.
