On ZAP Endurance athlete Nicole DiMercurio turned in a fine performance at the Houston Half Marathon to kick off the team’s 2019 racing schedule. DiMercurio started the race conservatively, battling the wind, over the first 5k before cranking things down to sub 5:30 pace from 5k to 10k. Over the 2nd half of the race DiMercurio pushed through the windy conditions alone and fought hard to the line to turn in her 2nd fastest half marathon of her career in 1:13:57.
DiMercurio will be racing the Boston Marathon this spring and the Houston Half Marathon was her final competitive effort before turning her focus to her marathon preparations. She will be returning to Boston after finishing 5th a year ago.
