Schwab comes to ZAP Fitness-Reebok as one of the most decorated athletes in Oklahoma’s history. Originally from Mustang, OK Schwab was a two time All American in his time with the Sooners. In 2010 Schwab was 23rd at the NCAA Cross Country Championships, leading his Oklahoma team to a school best 5th place finish. The following year Schwab finished 2 spots out of earning All American honors as the Sooners finished 6th in the team standings.
The 2011 indoor track season was a break out year on the track for Schwab. Schwab won the Big 12 5,000m title and at the NCAA Indoor Championships took 6th place in a fast men’s 5,000m final, setting the Oklahoma school record of 13:36 in the process. Schwab followed up his exceptional indoor campaign by taking 2nd place at the Big 12 Championships in the 10,000m and setting an outdoor 5,000m best of 13:40 at the Payton Jordan Invitational.
In his final two years on the track for the Sooners Schwab displayed tremendous range, running 28:53 for 10,000m in 2012 and the following year running the 3rd fastest time in school history in the indoor 1,000m run with a 2:23 clocking. In his final Big 12 Championship as a Sooner Schwab took home his second conference championship, winning the Outdoor 10,000m title and laying claim to his 10th All Big 12 Selection.
