The Houston Half Marathon has the reputation of being the fastest half marathon in the US every year and the 2018 edition lived up to the billing as the fastest in US history. For ZAP-Reebok athletes Matt McClintock and Joe Stilin it was their first foray in the half marathon. Both athletes were disciplined from the start, running very even splits on their way to phenomenal days. Matt’s time of 1:02:34 is the 2nd fastest in ZAP history behind teammate Tyler Pennel. Stilin ran 1:03:35 in a race that marked the first time he had ventured beyond 8k on the roads in his career. Both athletes will use this as a springboard to a spring track season that will see them open up at the Raleigh Relays at the end of March.
