This past weekend the trio of Tristin Van Ord, Matt McClintock and Andrew Colley cut their racing teeth at the Virginia 4 Miler. Van Ord, making her On ZAP Endurance debut, took the win on the women’s side with a time of 22:40. Colley finished a narrow 2nd place, 1 second out of the win in the men’s race, running 19:18 while McClintock took the final podium spot with his time of 19:38.
The race served as a season opener for all three before racing the US 10 Mile Championships next weekend in Minneapolis. The US 10 Mile Championships are hosted by the Twin Cities 10 Mile. Both McClintock and Colley raced the 10 Mile Championships last year with Colley turning in a 10th place performance, running 47:36. The race will take place Sunday morning, October 6th, at 7am central time / 8am eastern. There isn’t any information available yet on whether the race will be shown live on USATF.TV as it has in the past but check on the link closer to race day for more info. And as always, you can follow us on Twitter for race updates!
While those 3 are competing in the Twin Cities Tyler Pennel will be making his return to racing at the Rock n’ Roll San Jose Half Marathon. Pennel will toe the line for the first time since July 4th when he ran the Peachtree Road Race and it will be his only race before he makes his 2nd appearance at the New York City Marathon on November 3rd alongside teammate Matt McClintock.
