Refrain From Stretching Muscle Strains

The soreness or pain you feel from a muscle strain is the result of tiny tears in the muscle. When our muscles are damaged the tightness we feel is the muscle trying to protect itself, triggering our instinct to stretch it.

But stretching only exacerbates the problem further by stressing and widening those tiny tears in the tissue. Instead, use compression and massage and try incorporating light strength work as long as it doesn’t cause pain.
