On ZAP Endurance’s Joe Stilin made a strong return to racing this past weekend at the Escape the Notch Half Marathon. Stilin took on a surprisingly strong field for the small Connecticut race, most notably his former Princeton teammate and 2-time US Olympic Steeplechaser Donn Cabral. Stilin worked with Cabral early and then took command of the race over the 5k to pull away for the win. Stilin’s final time was 1:04:12, just over a minute ahead of Cabral.
Stilin and Cabral viewed it as a good test of fitness amidst a fall base training phase. Both athletes have their long-term focus set on the 2021 US Olympic Track and Field Trials.
