In a rare road racing opportunity this weekend Josh, Joanna, and Pardon will all be competing at the Tobacco Road Half Marathon in Cary, NC on Sunday May 16th. The race, typically run in March, was postponed to May this year and will serve as a tune-up for Pardon 5 weeks out from Grandma’s Marathon in June.
Joanna, after competing at the Ashland City Half Marathon alongside Pardon at the beginning of March, competed in 2 smaller 5k road races in the New York area in the last 5 weeks and is looking forward to returning to the distance. Joanna took the win at the Bunny Boogie 5k in April clocking 16:32. On hillier course in Westport, CT she got another victory, running 16:52 at the Westport Fitness 5k.
After missing 3 months of running due to COVID-19 Josh has been back training consistently and joining Tristin and Pardon for part of their training sessions in preparation for next month’s Grandma’s Marathon. He will be toeing the line at this weekend’s half with the intention of using it as a springboard to a June and July racing schedule.
To beat the North Carolina heat the men’s race will begin at 5:55am with the women to follow 2 minutes later at 5:57am. Once the race is completed you can find the results here.
