For the 2nd year the Women’s 6k Festival in Canton, OH will be hosting the Women’s US 6km Championships. The event takes place this Saturday, June 4th, at 8:00am eastern. Coming off her 2:29:32 marathon PB in Rotterdam 2 months ago, Tristin will be stepping down in distance to take on some of the country’s best middle distance runners.
After contesting 3 marathon from June 2021 to April 2022, Tristin is planning on taking the rest of the year off from marathoning to focus on some shorter distance events. She will be kicking off her 2022 summer racing season in Canton. Despite the unusual distance, the race drew a strong field for the inaugural edition last year and the same is true this year.
It has been over a year since Tristin contested a race this short. But she did run 15:53 for 5,000m on the indoor track last winter, and will be calling on that speed this weekend.
