ZAP Endurance’s Tristin Van Ord, Andrew Colley, and Josh Izewski will all be competing at this weekend’s Cherry Blossom 10 miler. The race, which will double as the US 10 Mile Championships, will be run Sunday, April 7th in Washington D.C.
All 3 athletes competed at the US Olympic Marathon Trials and all 3 made their return to racing this past weekend at the Raleigh Relays. The timing, 9-10 days before Cherry Blossom, was a good time to get in 1 last hard effort in Raleigh. Josh and Andrew both competed at 5000m with Josh running 13:59 and Andrew running a PR of 13:35. Tristin rabbited a section of the women’s 5k through 3,500m to get her hard effort in ahead of this weekend.
Josh and Andrew both competed at Cherry Blossom in 2018 and are looking forward to competing near the front of the race. Andrew has a personal best of 46:47 from the Twin Cities 10 Miler in 2022. Josh ran 46:59 at the Broad Street Run in 2023. Tristin’s best at the 10 mile distance is 53:13, also from Twin Cities in 2022.
Both races will feature stellar fields, which you can read about here on the race website. The women will begin at 7:18am with the men to follow at 7:30am. You can watch the race live on USATF.TV (subscription required) and find info about live tracking and results here.
