We are excited to announce the addition of 2014 North Central graduate Johnny Crain to the ZAP-Reebok family. Crain is a native of Dunlap, Illinois and during his time at North Central Crain was a 4-time NCAA DIII Champion and 10-time All-American. In 2012 he helped lead his cross country and indoor track teams to national titles.
Upon graduating from North Central Crain took a position as a graduate assistant at Oklahoma University where he is finishing up his master’s degree in intercollegiate athletic administration. During his time in Norman Crain continued to train on his own and say huge breakthroughs both on the track and on the roads. In the winter of 2015 at the US Half Marathon Championships Crain posted an Olympic Trials qualifying time of 1:03:21. He followed up that performance in the spring by taking nearly 30 seconds off his 10,000m personal best with is 28:26 at the Payton Jordan Invitational.
Crain will be making his marathon debut at the Olympic Trials along with his new teammates Tyler Pennel, Joanna Thompson, Cole Atkins, and Griff Graves.
